Messiah - Sing In

The competition is open to all singers who are legal residents of the United States.

The competition is open to all singers between the ages of 20-30 as of May18, 2008.

All applications must include a recent audio recording (CD) of four (4) arias in contrasting styles.

The top 15 singers will be invited to the Semi-Final Round based on the adjudication of the audio recording of the two contrasting styles.

During the Semi-Final and Final rounds, May 19th, singers will be required to present four (4) arias of contrasting styles. These four arias may not be changed at the time of the competition.

Arias must be presented in the original language and original key signature.

A Non-Refundable application fee of $50.00 is required of all applicants.

Singers must be registered 1 hour prior to the beginning of the competition.

Applications Must Be Postmarked by 5 p.m. March 15, 2008.

Former First Place winners of the Rose Palmai-Tenser Scholarship Competition are not eligible to compete.

Having performed a major role or currently being under contract in a major role with Mobile Opera, Inc. disqualifies an applicant from competition.

During the Semi-Final Round, the contestants will perform two of their four arias. The first will be selected by the contestant and the second selected by the panel of judges.

During the Final Round, the contestant will perform two of their arias. These will be selected by the panel of judges.

The list of arias submitted may not be changed.

The Rose Palmai-Tenser Competition Board will provide an accompanist to the Semi-Final and Final contestants for an additional, non-refundable fee of $25.00. This fee is due at the time of acceptance. The $25.00 fee will cover a 15 minute rehearsal and for performances during the competition.

Applications or parts of applications are not accepted by fax or by e-mail.

Audio materials become the property of the Rose Palmai-Tenser Board and may be used to promote the competition.

The Rose Palmai-Tenser Board reserves the right to disqualify any contestant for any misrepresentation on their application or resume.
